Yes, of course, you can work in other countries after completing your MBBS from India.
You may have several options, but most probably the students prefer 3 countries i.e. USA, UK, CANADA. You may also prefer Australia, New Zealand etc.
Here, I will talk about the top 3 countries which are preferred by most of the IMGs(Indian Medical Graduates).
- USA - USMLE
USA practice in the USA you have to clear the USMLE (United States Medical Licencing Examination).
This is a 3-step examination :
STEP1 (that composes of non-clinical and paraclinical subjects). STEP 2 CK ( that tests your knowledge of clinical subjects).
STEP 2 CS ( this tests your clinical skills and your ability to diagnose patients).
The last one is STEP 3 (this exam is the final exam of your residency). So you have to score very well in these exams to have a US medical licence. Step 1 and step 2 ck are MCQ-based exams that u can give from India through registered centres. But to attend step 2 CS and step 3 you have to be present in the US.
- UK - PLAB
PLAB- this is an exam you have to pass for practising in the UK. This also has many steps, I have attached the image below of the full process.
- CANADA- MCCQE
CANADA- MCCQE ( medical council of Canada qualifying examination). This also has 2 MCQ based exams and a clinical assessment exam. But here you can't take the exam until you are a permanent resident of Canada. So first, u have to apply for permanent residency to appear in exams. This exam has 2 parts MCCQE 1 and MCCQE 2.
